WitchGirl Adventures arrives
My copy of WitchGirl Adventures arrived today along with the first issue of the comic book. Given that its selling quite cheap ($20), I was surprised that the book looks remarkable solid, has the opening comic in full color and has a piece of art on every page (and normally more than 1 piece).

Best yet, it came with a free badge and a cool looking necklace (for Sam or Ayla, not me). Nice!

Anyway, I hope to post a review here soon.

I really like what I have seen so far. The system is very light yet traditional in all senses. It would be cool for most high school drama RPGs with a splash of magic, from Buffy to Harry Potter to Magic School Girl anime. The Casting Call chapter includes everything from vampires and ghosts to hot boys and parents. The Equipment Chapter is hilarious too with things like SpellPods (an iPod for your spells) :)

Hell yeah for me, the RPG. WitchGirl Adventures is one of the few RPGs that has "run this for your daughters" written all over it :)

However, the necklace can go to Sam or Ayla :)

Actually Sam correctly IDed it as a dangly thing you put on your phone :) I am so not a 12 year old girl :)

Looking at the upcoming supplements, I must admit I am even more excited to see where this RPG goes:

- Moonshadow: Guide to Magical Towns
- Hex scouts' Guide to Cryptids (Bestiary, I presume)
- Mortals Immortals and More (sounds like a Bestiary for non-cryptids)
- Highbinders' Guide to Magic

Plus there is an adventure called The Pirates of Buccanneer Hill :)

Nice, though mostly as the art seemed much better (almost Avatar the Last Airbender). Strangely enough the original covers (in the Star Creation Guide) were pretty cool too, though the nice was better their too.

Cosmic Witch battles commence!

In any case, the book looks really good from what i have seen so far. The sheer number of wardrobe, potion, accessory, wand and broom options should be fun to explore :)

I don't know if I can be bothered with doing a full review of WGA. It is very cool IMO and has chock full of details. The game is actually little more "Wicked" than I expected. The ethos of "Boys are stupid, throw rocks at them" is strong and hilarious.

I also laughed out loud when reading about the horror of the ancient sleeping God called Echinda :)
